A little about the Doctor 

        Dr. Joe Taranto is a native of Johnstown. Having experienced sports-related injuries while wrestling, Dr. Joe was drawn to the science and art of prevention and the rehabilitation of sports and other injuries. This first led him to the main campus of Penn State where he studied Kinesiology. While at Penn State, he worked as an athletic trainer for the University’s sports teams and student facilities and is currently an active member of the PSU alumni association.  His pursuit continued at Life University, where he studied the influence of Chiropractic. Life University offered the chance to see sports and Chiropractic intertwined.  In addition to the various sports programs, the 1996 Olympics provided Life University the chance to host the training of Olympic athletes. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the world’s largest College of Chiropractic, Life University in Marietta, Georgia.
   At Life, Dr. Joe was recognized on the Dean’s List and was an assistant in the gross dissection labs, a tutor and Instructional leader in Clinical proficiency, orthopedic, visceral, and neurological diagnosis. During his Master’s, Dr. Joe worked at Emory University’s cardiac rehab facility. After working in the Atlanta area, he and his wife,   Dr. Saki, decided to move their family to Johnstown and open their own practice.
